I present to you a Blue collection, like a museum piece straight out of the Jouy museum. This museum houses the precious archives of the famous and less famous Jouy toile prints.

The Bonnes Herbes motif was a particularly popular motif, first at the Jouy Manufactory, then in other factories where it was massively copied. This flower motif was successful from the 1780s, even if the term only appeared from 1820. The compositions gave leaves and stems a major role, creating a diversity among the drawn flowers often represented in flowerbeds in busy compositions. These were mainly composed of wildflowers often associated with bronze or chimney sweep backgrounds, that is to say black, brown or dark green. Provençal costume also partly contributed to the rise of the Bonnes Herbes motif.
